• I'm a solo traveller and want to meet other people. Can i join a group?

Yes we can arrange for you to join group tours instead of private tours. Look out for our special group tours that take in whole countries, usually for about 10 days.
  • Are your experiences kid friendly?

Almost all of our adventures are for the kids as well. If you are unsure just ask.
  • Why should i book with Culture Bites?

We don't and won't sell you anything that we haven't done ourselves. Food tourism is the fastest growing sector in the tourist world at the moment which is good in a way but also means that there is a lot of less than good experiences out there. We've researched each and every experience at least twice and we continue to be on the lookout for new and exciting adventures that others don't yet know about.
  • What's included in the price?

Each tour has different rules but unless stated all the food, soft drinks and the guide fee is included. Some tours include alcohol tastings as well but double check with us if you are unsure.
  • Do i need a travel visa for my destination?

Depending on your nationality and your destination you may require a visa. As the rules and regulations are constantly changing from country to country it's always best to check with your relevant embassy or consulate. Normally if visas are needed it's a relatively straight forward process.
  • What do i do regarding local customs such as tipping?

In almost all cultures tipping your guide is kind and generous thing to do if you have had good service. If you are unsure just ask us and we will tell you the do's and don'ts
  • Are you a licensed operator?

Yes. We hold a Singaporean travel agency license. Culture Bites is incorporated in Singapore. License number 02612.
  • I have a destination in mind but you don't offer it on your website?

Just because it isn't on our site yet doesn't mean it isn't in our minds. As time goes by we are constantly researching and adding new and exciting destinations. Get in touch and we'll see what we can do. You may end up being the first Culture Biter in that country. We'll probably buy you a little bottle of something sparkling for that.
  • What should i do regarding insurance?

We strongly recommend that you take out comprehensive travel insurance for your trip. As some of our destinations are slightly less developed then others, we also recommend that your insurance covers health, emergency and evacuation just in case.
  • How long in advance can i book?

Once you have decided which tour you want to take we'd recommend booking it right away. Our tours sell out and there is nothing worse than for you to be excited about taking the tour and finding out a week before the trip that we are full.
  • Do you do short breaks?

Yes we do. Our carefully tailored mini bites are perfect for those who can't take much time away or who perhaps just want to enjoy the Culture Bites experience for a long weekend.
  • How do i make payment?

You can make secure internet credit card payments via paypal or make a direct bank transfer. Once everything has been agreed we will provide you with the relevant details so as to make the process as smooth and secure as possible. Due to banking regulations in Asia it is very costly for us to integrate a payment system such as World pay. We would have to pass on the cost to you the customer so we have researched and found these 2 to be the most cost effective ways to pay.
  • I am travelling out of Singapore. What is travel agent insolvency insurance for?

The Singapore Tourist Board require all Singapore based travel agents to advise clients of their rights to purchase additional insurance to cover travel agency insolvency. The client is not obligated to purchase such insurance and the process is in no way reflective of the travel agency in question. Should you wish to purchase this insurance, please speak to your Culture Bites representative.
